This is the true Web 2.0 way: don’t ask users to provide structure, unless it’s useful to them. But do design your applications in such a way that structure is generated without extra effort on the user’s part. And mine structure that already exists, even if it’s messy and inefficient.
Tim O’Reilly liefert uns heute einen sehr lesenswerten Artikel zum Semantic Web, welches vermutlich den Kern des Web 3.0 bilden wird, und gibt uns folgenden Ausblick:
The semantic web is definitely coming. But it’s coming through different mechanisms, I think, than the Semantic Web pioneers imagined.
Und der Unterschied ist wohl – schaut man auf die Beispiele – der, dass die Web 2.0-geschulten WWW-Nutzer als Schwarm ganz aktiv daran mitbasteln und somit die Entwicklung nicht im Informatik-Laboratorium jenseits des Netzalltags statt findet, sondern den Netzalltag selbst darstellt. In diesem ist jeder Klick ein Beitrag zur Weiterentwicklung, womit sich das Web 3.0 fast wie von selbst erschafft..
It’s hard for me to assume what to exactly expect within the web 3.0 category but I am confident to say that some of today’s technology even off-web could be categorized as part of the 3.0 era.
