The pace of technological change has not slowed but has possibly even accelerated. Along with this change, new generations of library users bring different expectations to their search for information and knowledge.  In order to build and maintain vibrant and relevant  library and information services, library leaders need to be trend conscious planners who can innovate and build internal organizational support for their strategic path to the future. This workshop will take participants through the steps necessary to identify trends that will determine what’s next in meeting user needs, the various methods of user needs assessment, and doing a SWOT analysis.
Good ideas are not enough. Good managers must have the personal political skills to get their proposals approved and funded. The final session will discuss successful methods for influencing others.
